Hello Bully Resources for Rescues
Hello Bully has always believed that good rescue programs should be easy to replicate for those who need them. Join us for a four-session course that covers everything from your definitions of adoptability to sending your dogs off with their forever families. If you want to create more structure for the dogs in your rescue or shelter, and the humans caring for them, we’re so glad you’re here. Let’s jump right in!
Part One: Developing Standards for Adoptability
In part one we discuss how to create your rescue’s definitions of adoptable, treatable/rehabilitatable, treatable/manageable, and unadoptable. Create schedules for assessments, shut downs, foster availability, adoption availability, reassessments, and outcomes.
Part Two: Assessing Dogs for Intake
In part two we discuss assessments. What is the best way to assess a dog? What if the dog is fearful? Discuss what assessments can tell us, and what they can’t.
Part Three: Rehabilitation Plans
In part three we discuss possible plans for dogs in need of medical or behavioral rehabilitation, and how to find balance when a dog needs both.
Part Four: Outcomes for Dogs
In part four we discuss meet-cutes and match-making for dogs going into foster or adoptive homes. We will also discuss the “Foster to Adopt” hybrid model. Finally, we will discuss the process of providing the most ethical outcomes for dogs who are not adoptable.
